Dear Sir or Madam,
You have been selected for a two-stage Delphi survey because you are a renowned expert in the field of public transportation and have many years of experience. This survey deals with the “Wider Economic Impacts”, also known as “Spillover Effects”, of public transport infrastructure.
Let me start by briefly introducing myself and explaining the purpose of the survey:
My name is Clemens Schneider and I am a Master student of Geography at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg. I am conducting this survey as part of my Master's thesis. The title of my thesis is “The relevance of ‘Wider Economic Impacts’ for public transport and the transferability to urban cable cars”.
The aim of this survey is to find out more about possible approaches and instruments for taking Wider Economic Impacts into account. The main question is which factors determine the extent of indirect and induced effects of public transport infrastructure.
The Delphi study is divided into two parts. The first part consists of a very broad survey in a qualitative style. Here you are asked to share your experience, knowledge and comments. They are very free to answer the questions as you wish.
The Delphi study is divided into two parts. The first part consists of a very broad survey in a qualitative style. Here you are asked to share your experience, knowledge and comments. You are free to answer the questions as you wish. The entire Delphi study is considered qualitative, as I cannot guarantee a representative study. This is also not my claim. However, quantitative elements are also included in the second round of the survey. There will be a mixture of open questions and questions based on the Likert scale.
At this point I would like to assure you that a Delphi survey is always 100% anonymous. Your answers will be noted in my work as follows: “Expert from the consulting sector from France” or “Expert from the public sector from Spain”. As explained above, you will not be mentioned by name. If you have any questions about the confidentiality of the survey results, please contact me.
