Your participation in this survey is very important to us. As an eldership, we want to know your opinion about which couple is best suited (and why) to serve this congregation for the next 5-10 years. We want God’s Spirit to lead us in this; we have not made a decision yet, and in fact, we have been careful to not even discuss our own opinions within the eldership yet. We ask that you prayerfully consider all that you have seen and heard from these couples as you express what God lays upon your heart. May he bless us greatly as we continue this process!
Search Process to date:
6/1/22 – 8/15/22 Survey of church needs and Friday devotional to present findings. Position announcement developed; much prayer and discussion. Announcement published 8/16/22.
8/16/22 – 10/6/22 Received applications, developed interview questions, and organized interview process and itineraries. More prayer and discussion.
10/7/22 – 11/20/22 Each couple was invited for a Friday thru Sunday interview period. In addition to the Sunday sermon and fellowship with the congregation as a whole, the Elders and their wives interviewed each couple for several hours, and a number of individuals and couples representing major age groups and ministries in the congregation hosted them for conversational meals to discuss the ministry needs of their particular age group and how the couple might serve to meet those needs.
11/21/22 – 12/25/22 Congregational survey and individual direct feedback to Elders. Congregational prayer and fasting for the Spirit to make clear who should be selected; reference checks; initial offer.
